This Privacy Policy describes how PetCare ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service").
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Account Data
- Name and email address — to create your account and sign in.
- Password — stored in hashed form (bcrypt). We never see it in plain text.
- Optional: phone, city, short bio, avatar photo.
1.2 Pet & Household Data
- Information you enter: pet name, photo, species, date of birth, weight, medications, reminders, expenses, documents, insurance records.
- Household members you invite and their roles.
1.3 Location Data
- Precise GPS coordinates during Walk Tracker sessions — recorded only while the walk is active and only if you grant location permission.
- Walk route data is stored on your account and is not shared with third parties.
1.4 Technical Data
- Server logs (IP address, device type, app version) — for diagnostics, security, and abuse detection.
- Session identifiers and authorization tokens.
We do not collect contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or use facial recognition. We have no third-party advertising.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide core app functionality: reminders, tracking, family sync.
- To send email verification and password reset emails.
- To secure your account and prevent fraud.
- To improve the Service using aggregated, anonymized usage statistics.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with the following service providers solely to operate the app:
- Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, password reset). Only your email address, name and message body are shared.
- Railway — cloud server and database hosting. Data is stored on servers in the EU / US regions.
We may disclose information in response to lawful requests from competent government authorities, as required by applicable law.
4. Data Retention
Data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app. For help, email support@petcarefamily.com. After confirmation, data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all traffic, bcrypt password hashing, role-based access control, and regular backups. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile in the app.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw consent to processing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (GDPR users in the EU/EEA).

7. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will notify you of significant changes in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
